Swope Toyota Gives Back to the Community
Swope Toyota is proud to be an active part of the community-minded philosophy of the entire Swope family of dealerships. Carl Swope, the 2017 Time Dealer of the Year, has led the entire Swope family in a campaign of community service, focusing on the ways that our dealerships can make a real difference to Central Kentucky. Â
Swope Toyota has been on the front line of many of those community projects, like United Way donation drives, holiday toy drives, Habitat for Humanity volunteerism, and many other projects. Swope Toyota believes, like the entire Swope Family of Dealerships, that making the Elizabethtown and Central Kentucky community better begins with us.
Habitat for Humanity
Swope Toyota has been an active supporter of Hardin County Habitat for Humanity for years. Habitat’s mission is to eradicate poverty through accessible home ownership, building homes and offering them with 0% interest mortgages to those who would not otherwise qualify. Swope Toyota is proud to be a part of the community partnership for the Hardin County Habitat for Humanity, donating vehicles and offering fundraising support.Â
We are proud of the small part we play in bridging the gap between families in poverty and the proud moment when those families experience the joy of owning a home.
Feeding America: Kentucky’s Heartland
Swope Toyota has been a proud participant in Toyota’s Feeding America campaign, focusing our attention on the Feeding America: Kentucky’s Heartland, the local division of the national organization.
Feeding America: Kentucky’s Heartland aids 42 counties where more than 15% of adults and 25% of children are hungry every day. Swope Toyota is proud to support this grassroots effort to bring food and comfort to the Central Kentucky community. In 2014, that support took the form of the Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program. We donated a Toyota Highlander to Feeding America: Kentucky’s Heartland and have continued our partnership with them through fundraisers and donations ever since.
United Way of Central Kentucky
Swope Toyota has been a proud supporter of the United Way of Central Kentucky for more than a decade. Our support has included employee contribution drives and matching contributions, participating in community outreach projects, and improving awareness of the United Way’s crucial mission in Central Kentucky. Â
One of the community projects we were involved in focused on Spring Haven, a local Central Kentucky organization that focuses on giving a new start to abused families. We are honored to support community organizations that make a real difference to Central Kentucky. The UWCK also serves major charities like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Feeding America, and the American Red Cross.
Helping Hands of Hope
Swope Toyota has also partnered with Helping Hands of Hope, a Hardin County community organization that reaches out to local people who may need help.
This organization bridges the gap between many other community agencies, offering temporary rent, utility, prescription medication, and clothing assistance and providing appliances, furniture, and transportation to medical appointments. Helping Hands of Hope also provides helpful classes, for job readiness and budgeting, to support people as they improve their situations. Swope Toyota is proud to be a part of supporting this crucial Central Kentucky agency.
Rachel’s Fun for Everyone
Swope Toyota was proud to encourage and support Rachel Ritchie, whose vision of an accessible playground for friends and neighbors was one that identified and met a real need in our community. On multiple occasions, we have helped Rachel raise money to meet her goal, sponsoring fundraisers like a festival and a golf scramble. We are inspired by Rachel’s dedication and spirit of community involvement, and so proud of the playground that exists in part because of her belief and unwavering dedication.  That same spirit is precisely the community investment that we at Swope Toyota try to embrace.
