2020 Toyota Highlander

The redesigned 2020 Toyota Highlander is here – and it’s bigger, comfier, and smarter than ever.

What’s new for the 2020 Toyota Highlander?

The Highlander has been completely redesigned for 2020. Compared to previous renditions, this updated crossover offers more cargo space behind the third row, giving you 16 cubic feet for your carry-on items. The updated Highlander also adds standard smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Which 2020 Toyota Highlander is best?

The answer to this question is completely subjective. To answer it, you must look deep within yourself and decide what you want from your Highlander. Choose from five models, the L, LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum.

The L gives you the best deal on a Highlander, and you’ll be pleased with its standard lineup. The Safety Sense 2.0 bundle of safety aids will actively help you avoid danger. The LED headlights are another nice touch, ensuring you both see and are seen. Inside, tri-zone automatic climate control maximizes comfort in all three rows. In addition to an 8-inch touchscreen, the infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

Spend a little extra on the LE, and you get more in safety and modern convenience. The blind-spot monitoring system can alert you to vehicles that might otherwise go unnoticed. This model also includes LED foglights and a power liftgate – two modern features that make life a little easier.

For more in style, check out the XLE. This Highlander treats you to simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a sunroof.

The Limited is where things get really luxurious. This model looks sharp in 20-inch wheels. Inside, it adds little luxuries, like ventilated front seats and a premium JBL audio system.

At the top of the lineup, the Premium treats you to exclusive style with its panoramic sunroof. Tech upgrades include a bigger, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, surround-view parking camera, driver’s head-up display, and a digital rearview mirror.

Which 2020 Toyota Highlander has captain’s seats? Which has leather seats?

The XLE, Limited, and Platinum come standard with second-row captain’s chairs. For standard leather seating, head straight to the top-trim Limited and Platinum models. Though we will say that the XLE’s simulated leather upholstery also has a soft, stylish vibe.

2020 Toyota Highlander Towing

Can the 2020 Toyota Highlander tow?

The Highlander is a great choice for drivers with big toys – including boats and small campers. Properly equipped, this crossover SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Is the Toyota Highlander reliable?

The Highlander was meant to last. But, if you’re worried, check out this crossover’s excellent warranty coverage. Included is Toyota’s bumper-to-bumper basic coverage, which lasts 36 months or 36,000 miles – whichever milestone comes first. Powertrain coverage will boost your confidence even more; it lasts 60 months or 60,000 miles.
